Iyunei Deah is a collection of
investigations ('iyunim') into Hilchos Yoreh Deah based on
the bechinos of Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg in Isur
v'Heter (melicha, basar b'chalav, ta'arovos) and Nida. This
book has proven to be very valuable to Torah scholars
aspiring to learn the material required for rabbinic
ordination - "semicha".
The book consists of one volume with 100 chapters (referred
to as 'iyunim') - 72 on Isur v'Heter and 28 on Nida - which
analyze in depth and summarize the main principles of these
two very central areas of halacha. In addition, the book has
extensive source references for each 'iyun' and also
includes the original versions of R' Goldberg's test
questions at the end. There are a total of app. 600 pages.
Iyunei Deah has received the approbations of Rabbi Zalman
Nechemia Goldberg, R' Moshe Halbershtam, R' Moshe Meir
Lieffer, R' Mendel Weinbach, R' Yonason Weiner, R' Nachum
Borowsky and R' Dovid Koenig. It has been very well received
by the Torah learning community in Israel, North and South
America, Europe, South Africa and Australia.
